The project runs from April 2006 until June 2008 and aims to support up to 150 London based organisations to develop their capacity to deliver their services and improve the sustainability of each organisation.
What is capacity building?
In this context, "capacity building" is support to develop the skills or infrastructure of a workforce or organisation to reduce the level of risk in the delivery of services.
Who is eligible?
Any project that is funded through the LDA’s Opportunities Fund 2006 or Skills and Employment Programme will be eligible to receive the free support.

What support will be offered?
Support measures will be determined by an initial detailed needs analysis process using a bespoke assessment tool (Readiness Assessment Tool (RAT)). This will lead to a capacity building action plan to tackle any areas where support has been identified. Organisations will be provided with the assessment tool and guidance manual in order to complete self-assessments and measure the success of the support. Support will be offered in the form of:

What are the costs?
As this programme is co-financed by the LDA and the ESF, the support will be free. However a commitment to the project will be required from organisations receiving support.

Who is delivering the project?
The LDA have commissioned Greater London Enterprise, Tribal Consulting and Zennor Consulting to deliver the capacity building project. The project will be delivered in partnership with private sector and voluntary sector organisations.
Zennor specialises in Public Sector consultancy, including programme and project management, evaluation and strategic reviews, capacity building including training programmes and also organisational development.
The London Development Agency is the Mayor’s agency and is responsible for improving London’s sustainable economic growth. The Mayor’s vision is “for London to be a sustainable world city with strong, long-term economic growth, social inclusion and active environmental improvement”.
